Christophe Thomas is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer for CMT Portfolio Advisors a New York based Multi Family Office. In his role he manages all investments, portfolio constructions and risk management for these Families. He invests across asset classes with large investment themes like technology, biotechnology, and climate impact.
Christophe has been a professional investor since 1998. He started his investment career through Barclays Capital Graduate Program in London and immediately became a proprietary convertible bond trader. In 2002, he moved to New York, and for almost two decades run large portfolios of investments (in excess of a billion dollars) for hedge funds like Marathon Asset Management or Lombard Odier 1798 platform. His focus was to create asymmetric risk profiles (more upside and less downside) combining a wide range of instruments: equities, options, convertibles, bonds, CDS. In addition to a strong investment track record, it gave him a deep understanding across investment types and a solid network of investment professionals.
Christophe earned a master’s degree in Finance from INSEEC Bordeaux Business School prior to being a Captain in a Special Warfare Group of the French Army.
